# Wi-Fi Adapter Repurposed as SDR

A Wi-Fi adapter can be repurposed as an SDR using MediaTek MT7920AU. Two projects, BirriaSDR and Mtk79ICAP, have developed drivers for this capability. The adapter supports 14-bit I/Q sampling and can operate in monitor mode with external antennas.
