South Africa has two institutions among Africa’s six entries in the global top 100 academic medical centre rankings for 2026, with one Cape Town hospital securing a place among the world’s top 25. According to Brand Finance’s Global Top 250 Hospitals 2026 report, Groote Schuur Hospital ranked 25th worldwide, while Tygerberg Hospital climbed to 63rd in the latest assessment.
