# Chinese youth embrace anime, reject war symbols

Young Chinese appreciate Japanese pop culture but reject war-era symbols. At Moscow State University, Chinese students objected to a classmate wearing Japan’s rising sun flag. The flag is seen in China as a symbol of Japanese militarism and aggression.
