# Woman Charged In Fatal Stabbing Of 7-Year-Old Had History Of Knife Charges, Prosecutors Say

CHATHAM — Shavon Gayden proclaimed “y’all all gotta die” as she was ordered detained in last week’s fatal stabbing of a 7-year-old girl after attorneys noted extensive histories of prior stabbing attempts and mental health breakdowns. Gayden, 48, is charged with first-degree murder after surveillance footage backed up witness accounts that she repeatedly stabbed Eddimar Hernández Chacón around 11:55 a.m on Oct. 3, according to Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Mike Pekara.
