# Ramaphosa Deploys Military to KZN Amid Unrest

President Ramaphosa deployed 510 SANDF members to KwaZulu-Natal amid protests fueled by misinformation. The deployment, under Section 201(2)(a) of the Constitution, runs until 30 November 2026. Violence in Durban left one person dead and prompted 25 arrests in KZN and five in Gauteng.
