# PostmarketOS now self-hosts Matrix-IRC bridge

https://nura.eco/blog/2025/03/31/matrix-bridge-migration/

PostmarketOS chat rooms now support both Matrix and IRC via a self-hosted bridge. The bridge uses matrix-appservice-irc for full single puppeting mode. A shutdown of the Matrix.org instance is expected by March 2025, but no confirmation has been received.
