# If you're running LND, you may be vulnerable to a Linux kernel exploit

Easiest thing to do is just shutdown LND for now if you aren't sure. I just did that myself (it's 7am here...) This is not LND's fault. But golang sockets support the mptcp protocol by default, and unpatched linux kernels can be remotely exploited via mptcp via CVE-2026-98432. So if this command returns anything: ss -Mlnp ...you are potentially vulnerable. The fix is upgrading to a kernel that you know is not exploitable and restarting. Or even easier, just disabling mptcp. Heck, do both: echo 'net.mptcp.enabled=0' | sudo tee /etc/sysctl.d/99-disable-mptcp.conf && sudo sysctl -p /etc/sysctl.d/
