What is Qwibbit?

Think of Qwibbit as the Craigslist of Bitcoin: a simple public bulletin board for things you are offering, looking for, announcing, or thinking about.

Imagine writing a note on paper and pinning it to a public board. You choose what it says, where it belongs, and whether to include a name or a way to reach you. Qwibbit brings that familiar idea online.

A post is called a Qwibb. Each Qwibb has its own permanent web address (URL) and private ownership secret. Bitcoin Lightning payment buys its time on category and tag boards.

What can I use Qwibbit for?

  • Trading with crypto: find buyers or sellers for lawful goods and services, and arrange payment directly.
  • Announcements: share a launch, event, community update, or something wonderfully random.
  • Sharing your website: introduce a useful project, shop, article, or portfolio.
  • Offering your skills: advertise freelance work, repairs, lessons, or other services.
  • Finding something: post a wanted ad, ask for help, or look for collaborators.
  • Local notices: organize a meetup, offer something free, or share neighborhood information.
  • Ideas and opinions: give a thought its own public link.
  • Or literally anything you can think of that follows the community rules.

Why does Qwibbit exist?

Qwibbit brings the simplicity and purpose of the classic web to today's internet. It gives people a place to speak freely and publish useful things without unnecessary credentials, profiles, or complicated participation requirements.

We want to support everyday Bitcoin use, affordable promotion, and a lasting home for each note. Relevant links help people discover good websites; thoughtful posting keeps spam from diminishing the quality of Qwibbit or the sites people share.

Qwibbit is independent of Craigslist. The comparison describes the bulletin-board idea.

How do I post and find Qwibbs?

How do I publish a Qwibb?

  1. Create a post. Write your complete note; the first line becomes its heading.
  2. Optionally choose up to three categories. Add hashtags in your note if you want it to appear on tag boards.
  3. Save the ownership secret shown after creation. Save this. It's your only chance.
  4. On your Qwibb's owner page, choose board time, review the price, and pay with a Bitcoin Lightning wallet.
  5. Once payment is verified, your Qwibb becomes public and appears on its assigned category and tag boards.

A new, unpaid Qwibb stays private. You can manage it with its secret before publication; other visitors cannot read it, even if they guess its address.

How do categories and hashtags work?

Categories are boards for subjects, places, or both. A Qwibb can belong to up to three. Geography is optional. Enter category IDs separated by commas, such as c12, c34; ordinary numbers work too. Creating a post from a category page selects that board for you.

A hashtag such as #gardening connects your note to a tag board. Hashtags are not case sensitive. Active posts appear on category and tag boards; moving a post between categories does not change its permanent link.

Can I create a category?

Category creation is free and subject to moderation. For a new board, email support@qwibbit.com with a suggested title and a short description. Categories can have parent boards to help organize them.

How can I format my note?

Plain text is welcome. Web addresses become clickable links, **bold** makes bold text, and *italic* makes italic text. Line breaks are preserved. Full Markdown is not supported, and website code pasted into a note is shown as text.

Can I follow new posts with RSS?

Yes. RSS (Really Simple Syndication) lets a feed reader check for updates. Home and Index link to the latest-postings feed. Category and tag pages link to their own feeds.

Feeds mirror the active boards and offer older pages with ?page=2, then ?page=3, and so on. Posts leave those feeds when board time expires. RSS works by polling; it is not an instant push notification or a permanent archive.

How do I own and manage a Qwibb?

Do I need an account?

No account or registration is required. Think of each post as its own little account: its private ownership secret lets you manage that one Qwibb. There is no public profile or site-wide customer login.

Your name and contact details appear in the note only if you write them in, just like a paper bulletin. Include a way to reach you if you want replies; Qwibbit does not provide private messaging.

What is my ownership secret?

Qwibbit creates a random, 64-character secret for each new post and shows it once. Copy it and keep it somewhere safe, along with the Qwibb's link. Anyone with the secret can edit, delete, or recharge that Qwibb.

Never put the secret in a public note, URL, or support email. Qwibbit stores a verification hash rather than a recoverable copy of your secret.

What if I lose my secret?

A lost secret means lost owner access. There is no password reset or account recovery. Support cannot recover it for you; reports of prohibited content can still be reviewed.

How do I edit or delete my Qwibb?

Open the Qwibb's link, use its owner-access control, and enter its secret. The owner page brings together editing, deletion, remaining board time, and recharge.

Editing changes the note and its last-edited timestamp. Qwibbit does not offer a public revision history. Deleting through the owner page removes the note from public view, including its boards and permanent page; it does not erase every stored record.

What does board time cost?

What does my payment buy?

Your payment buys whole hours of visibility on category and tag boards for one Qwibb. The owner page shows the remaining time as a battery. Payment supports the service and adds a little friction against automated spam.

Current rate: 25 sats per hour, or 600 sats for 24 hours. Review the exact quote on your owner page before paying.

A satoshi, usually called a sat, is one hundred-millionth of a bitcoin. Prices are set in sats. Any displayed dollar estimate is in United States dollars, is approximate, and does not change the invoice amount. Rates may change; an invoice keeps its quoted price and hours.

How do I pay with Bitcoin Lightning?

Use a wallet that supports Bitcoin Lightning, a network for Bitcoin payments. Choose hours on your owner page, continue to payment, and scan the invoice's QR (Quick Response) code or copy the invoice into your wallet. Review it there before paying. A regular Bitcoin transfer on the blockchain is not a Lightning invoice payment.

Time is added only after Qwibbit verifies settlement. Opening an invoice or returning from a wallet does not confirm payment. Your owner page shows confirmation and the updated balance once the payment is credited.

Can I add more time?

Yes. Recharge from that Qwibb's owner page using its secret. Verified payment adds the purchased hours to its remaining time, or starts a new balance if it has expired. An eligible published post returns to its category and tag boards. Payment does not restore a deleted or prohibited post.

What happens when the battery runs out?

Your published Qwibb remains readable at its permanent URL. It leaves category and tag boards, along with their RSS feeds, until you recharge it. Expiration does not delete the post. Owner deletion and moderation can still remove it.

No. A published Qwibb keeps its address, such as /q123, when you edit it, change categories, or let its board time expire. Published, expired notes remain eligible for search discovery. Search engines decide what to index; publication does not guarantee a search listing or ranking.

Do you offer refunds?

Payments are non-refundable. Review the duration and sats total before paying. This policy also applies if you choose the wrong duration or your post is removed for breaking the rules, subject to rights required by applicable law.

If you paid but your time has not appeared, contact payment support. Include the Qwibb's URL, amount, payment time, and wallet receipt or payment reference. Never send your ownership secret or wallet recovery phrase.

What are the community rules?

What does responsible posting look like?

Speak in your own words, respect other people's rights, and post honestly. Opinions, useful offers, and unusual ideas are welcome. Make advertising, fictional examples, and time-sensitive claims clear. Share relevant links that give readers something useful.

What is not allowed?

  • Illegal content or activities, exploitation, and credible threats.
  • Scams, fraud, deceptive offers, and malicious links or code.
  • Spam, repeated ads, board flooding, and manipulation of visibility.
  • Impersonation and fabricated official notices.
  • Exposing someone's private information without permission.
  • Targeted harassment and intimidation.
  • Adult or sexually explicit content.
  • Copyright infringement and other violations of people's rights.

Can a paid post be removed?

Yes. Payment buys board time, not an exemption from the rules. Qwibbit can remove or restrict prohibited content regardless of its payment status. Paying again does not reverse a moderation decision.

How do I report abuse?

Email support@qwibbit.com with the Qwibb or category URL and a short explanation. Include relevant evidence without forwarding illegal material. Do not publish private information or secrets in a report.

What if I think a removal was a mistake?

Contact support with the post's URL and explain the concern. We can review your report; a review does not guarantee restoration or a particular response time.

How does Qwibbit handle privacy?

Do you track me or require a profile?

No advertising trackers. No analytics system. No account required. Qwibbit uses essential cookies and operational records to make posting, ownership, and payments work.

Your note is public after publication, including any personal details you choose to put in it. Public content may be indexed, quoted, or copied by others. Include only information you are comfortable sharing.

What information does the site store?

Qwibbit stores note content, category and hashtag assignments, creation and edit timestamps, a view count, an ownership verification hash, and publication and moderation status. Payment records include invoice details, amounts, purchased time, and settlement references.

Hosting and network services may keep operational logs, including Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and request details. Messages you send to support contain whatever information you choose to include. Not having a profile does not make a public post or Lightning payment untraceable.

Why does the site use cookies?

Essential session and security cookies remember owner access, support the one-time secret display, and protect forms against forged requests. Blocking them can prevent posting or managing a Qwibb. You can remove them through your browser settings.

Which outside services are involved?

Opalstack hosts Qwibbit. Bitcoin Lightning payments use the Breez SDK and Spark services. The owner page may show a US dollar estimate from Coinbase; Qwibbit requests that rate on the server rather than loading a Coinbase tracker in your browser.

Your chosen wallet, external websites you visit, and any feed reader you use have their own privacy practices.

What happens to data when I delete a post?

Owner deletion removes the Qwibb from public access but retains its database record. Payment records remain for accounting and payment reconciliation. Backups, operational logs, and support correspondence may also retain information; deletion is not an immediate wipe of every copy.

Qwibbit does not publish a fixed retention period for these records. Contact support with privacy questions or requests. Copies held by search engines or other people are outside Qwibbit's control.

How do I contact Qwibbit?

support@qwibbit.com is the official contact for general questions, technical issues, payments, privacy, abuse reports, and copyright concerns.

Never send your ownership secret, wallet recovery phrase, or private keys. Support does not need them. We do not promise a fixed response time.
