Back up a live SQLite WAL database safely

Copying only an SQLite .db file can miss committed data still represented in its write-ahead log. This is a practical backup kit for a local SQLite database that remains open in an application.

The paid material supplies an original Python backup utility, a no-overwrite destination policy, an integrity check, a committed-WAL test case and a restore acceptance checklist. It uses SQLite's backup API rather than trying to reconstruct database pages from three unrelated file copies.

Scope: CPython 3.12 with its sqlite3 module, local files and an account authorized to read the database. Tested on a disposable WAL database on 18 October 2026. This is a snapshot workflow, not continuous point-in-time recovery or a repair service for an already corrupted database. The underlying SQLite documentation is freely available; the purchase is the assembled utility and verification procedure. #SQLite #Backups
