Audit CSV imports without losing leading zeros

A CSV file can look correct in a spreadsheet and still contain duplicate column names, inconsistent row lengths or embedded newlines that break a line-based import. Automatic numeric conversion can also destroy identifiers such as 00123.

Unlock a read-only Python auditor that reports structural defects without printing row values or rewriting the source. The package includes UTF-8 BOM handling, explicit delimiter selection, logical-record versus physical-line reporting and a fixture showing why splitting on commas is unreliable.

Tested with CPython 3.12 on 18 October 2026. Intended for comma- or explicitly selected delimiter-separated UTF-8 text, not legacy encodings or a universal schema inference engine. It preserves strings; it does not make opening the same file in Excel safe from automatic type conversion. #CSV #DataQuality
