Midlands resident wins $30K lottery

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands lottery player says winning $30,000 on a $2 scratch-off feels like a dream, said lottery officials. “I can’t believe it,” she told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. She said she wasn’t going to play the lottery, but talked herself into buying two, $2 scratch-offs at the Shamrock Corner store on Shakespeare Road in Columbia. As for her plans for the prize, she says she is still figuring out how to turn the dream into a lasting reality. “I said it’s just $2, so it won’t break me,” she said explaining her decision to take a chance. “
