LA: make something at the library

Created: Last edited:
A useful downtown resource: Octavia Lab at Central Library has sewing machines, a laser cutter, 3D printers and recording studios. Access is free for library cardholders who join the lab.

Bring a library card in good standing and photo ID, then complete the user agreement in person. The lab is on Lower Level 2 at 630 W. 5th Street. Equipment reservations are accepted by phone or in person; call 213-228-7150.

Start with one small project: a sewn repair, a prototype or a short recording. Ask staff about the equipment and materials you need before bringing supplies.

Equipment, membership and current hours.
